1. What is the Series No. 1 “Layne”?
The Layne is our first mechanical timepiece—a 41mm automatic watch designed by M. Ryan Watch Designs and assembled by hand in the USA. It features a Miyota 9132 automatic movement, sapphire crystals, a distinctive serrated coin-edge case and 100-meter water resistance.
2. When will the Layne be available?
The Layne is currently in production. Pre-ordering is now available at price that is substantially discounted from our final retail price.
3. How do can I get the latest update?

4. What movement does the Layne use?
The Layne uses the Japanese-made Miyota 9132 automatic movement. It features automatic winding, hand-winding, hacking seconds, a date display and a 24-hour indicator.

6. What makes the Layne's case unique?
The Layne features a distinctive serrated coin-edge profile around the sides of the case. This creates a tactile, three-dimensional character and is one of the defining design elements of the Series No. 1.
7. What dial options will be available?
The Series No. 1 will launch with four dial options:
• Black Sunburst
• Blue Fume / Gradient
• Green Fume / Gradient — Gun Metal PVD case
• Full-Lume — Gun Metal PVD case
All versions feature luminous hour numerals, markers and hands.
8. What type of lume does the Layne use?
Lume varies by dial version and uses Swiss Super-LumiNova® materials, including BGW9, X1-LOR and X1-C3.
For production, we're removing the metal surrounds around the hour markers and numerals used on the prototypes. Instead, the production dials will use multiple layers of printed lume to create a cleaner appearance with added visual depth.
9. What straps will be available?
The Layne will be offered with:
• Canvas & leather hybrid
• Leather
• FKM rubber
All straps will use quick-release spring bars. Leather straps will taper from 20mm to 18mm, and we are also extending strap length and adding adjustment holes where possible.
10. Where are the Layne watches assembled?
The Layne is designed and hand-assembled in the USA. Final assembly includes movement regulation, quality-control inspection and water-resistance pressure testing.
11. Does the Layne come with a warranty?
Yes. Every registered watch comes with a 2-year international limited warranty covering defects in materials and assembly. Watches that are not registered come with a 1-year warranty
12. How many Layne watches will be produced?
The initial production run of the Series No. 1 is 300 watches. Additional production will be based on demand.
Each version will have its own serial numbering beginning with A-001.
13. Will the production watch be exactly the same as the prototypes?
The production Layne incorporates several refinements based on what we learned from the prototypes.
The most significant change is the dial, where we're removing the metal surrounds around the hour markers and numerals and using multiple layers of printed lume instead.
We've also refined details including the straps, lug edges, crown finish, caseback text and color-matched date wheels.
14. Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We plan to ship worldwide. Shipping rates and delivery times will vary depending on destination and will be shown during checkout.

The Layne is designed in the USA and assembled by hand in the USA. For every watch sold, M. Ryan Watch Designs, LLC will make a donation to organizations that support epilepsy and rare disease-related causes.
